About Us
KK Papiyane is a branch of SASCO, SASCO being the biggest student movement in Africa. It organizes students in the Howard College campus of the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN). The Branch strives for the transformation of the whole system in order to achieve a non-sexist, non-racial, working class biased and democratic education system in UKZN. It seeks to ensure the destruction of capitalist tendencies of the University and continuously champions the issues of children of the working class.
The branch seeks to ensure access & success in this campus by, 1). ensuring that all deserving students are given a chance to study through the SASCO's annual Right To Learn Campaign which takes place during registration. 2). funding is awarded to all students wishing to study. 3). Better equipped lecture rooms & lecturers. 4). better residences for students etc. this is achieved through mobilizing students and rallying them behind the call for "UNITY FOR DEMOCRACY IN EDUCATION".
Our Work
As the Branch we are committed to ensure that all students are active members of SASCO and are well equipped to transform their lives & those of their communities; because SASCO understands that, "We are members of the community before we are students."
